Su acervo est\u00e1 formado por una amplia colecci\u00f3n de objetos donados por los vecinos del departamento, concentr\u00e1ndose en Historia y Arqueolog\u00eda.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Actualmente el acervo incluye prensa de Rivera, fotograf\u00edas, documentos hist\u00f3ricos, documentaci\u00f3n municipal, colecciones de arqueolog\u00eda y paleontolog\u00eda. Dispone de dos laboratorios, uno denominado LAPPA de preservaci\u00f3n patrimonial en colaboraci\u00f3n con la Universidade Federal de Pelotas y otro de digitalizaci\u00f3n de documentos en colaboraci\u00f3n con el Centro Universitario de Rivera. Su misi\u00f3n es: exponer, preservar, conservar, investigar y divulgar diferentes aspectos relacionados al acervo en su diferentes campos y con referencia al patrimonio cultural de la regi\u00f3n de frontera. El trabajo analiza el contexto socio econ\u00f3mico y diplom\u00e1tico regional, desde inicios de 1850, el trazado de l\u00edmites entre Brasil y Uruguay, la situaci\u00f3n de la frontera, la forma en que los pobladores fueron habit\u00e1ndola y negociando con el gobierno nacional el local definitivo de la ciudad. Ocurre as\u00ed una situaci\u00f3n singular, Rivera se instala en el lugar que los vecinos consideraban mejor, contraponi\u00e9ndose a las indicaciones del gobierno. Una decisi\u00f3n que marc\u00f3 definitivamente el esp\u00edritu fronterizo, integrador, de nuestras ciudades.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\"
